KMI Faith Statement

We believe and teach the following foundational statements of faith, and endeavor to live accordingly. Because we understand that all of us “only know in part” and “see as through a glass darkly’ (1Corinthians 13:12), we give each other liberty to “walk out our salvation, with fear and trembling” (Philippians 2:12). In this way, we endeavor to “keep the unity of the spirit” (Ephesians 4:3), “until we come to the unity of the faith,” (Ephesians 4:13).

The Bible

We believe the Holy Bible, in the original Hebrew and Greek manuscripts, is “God Breathed”. It is the inspired, inerrant and infallible Word of God. God’s Word is Truth and is the final authority for the faith and practice of all believers in Jesus. (Exodus 24:4-8; Matthew 5:18; John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21)

God

We believe there is one true and living God, creator of Heaven and Earth (Genesis 1:1), who exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is a Spirit, without beginning and without end, unchangeable in His love, mercy, power, wisdom, and righteousness. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 45:22, Psalm 90:2; John 4:24; Matthew 28:19; 2Corinthians 13:14).

Jesus

We believe that Jesus (Yeshua) is the promised Messiah of Israel (John 1:41, 4:25-26), who fulfilled the prophecies that His first coming was to provide an atonement for our sins by His sacrificial death (Isaiah 53) and physical resurrection (Psalm 16:10; Luke 24:44; Acts 13:35; 1Corinthians 15:1-3).

[To learn more about this, please read my book, “Messiah in the Prophecies”].

We believe that Jesus (Yeshua) is the only begotten (i.e. utterly unique) Son of God (John 1:14, 3:16, 1John 4:9). He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit in the womb of the Virgin Miriam (Mary) (Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:26-38). He is fully God and fully Man, the one in whom all the fullness of the deity dwells in bodily form (John 10:30; Colossians 1:13-18, 2:9; Hebrews 1:1-2). He is the Savior (Matthew 1:21; John 3:16), the Lord (Luke 2:11; Romans 10:9; 1Corinthians 8:6), the Redeemer (Ephesians 1:7), and the soon coming King (Revelation 22:20).

He led a sinless life (2Corinthians 5:21; 1John 3:5; Hebrews 4:15, 7:26; 1Peter 2:22), and as the Lamb of God, (John 1:29). He made atonement for the sins of the world (Matthew 26:28; Romans 3:24-25; 1Corinthians 15:3,4: 1Peter 2:24; 1John 2:2), by shedding His blood on the Cross (Ephesians 1:7; Colossians 1:20; Hebrews 9:14).

After three days in the grave, he literally and physically rose from the dead (Matthew 28:6; Mark 16:6; Luke 24;1-12; Acts 2:24; 1Corinthians 15:3,4;), and ascended to Heaven (Acts 1:9-12). He is presently seated at the right hand of the Father (Matthew 26:64; Colossians 3:1), where He is our intercessor, mediator, and advocate (1Timothy 2:5; 1John 2:1; Hebrews 4:14,15; 7:25).

He will be the ultimate Judge of humanity (Matthew 25:31–46; John 5:22; Acts 10:42, 17:31; 2Timothy 4:1; 1Peter 4:5).

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh) is co-equal with the Father and the Son. The Holy Spirit Births, Regenerates and Baptizes those who receive Jesus as Lord and Savior (John 33-8, Acts 1:5; 1Peter 1:23; Titus 3:5)

  • He is the Spirit of Truth (John 14:17,15:26, 16:13).
  • He testifies about Jesus and Glorifies Him (John 15:26, 16:14)
  • He convicts humanity about sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8-11)
  • He works to sanctify us (1Peter 1:2)
  • He Indwells us (1Corinthians 6:19)
  • He imparts life to us (Romans 8:11)
  • He Helps and Comforts us (John 14:16)
  • He Teaches us (John 14:26)
  • He Guides us into all truth (John 16:13)
  • He Imparts spiritual gifts (1Corinthians 12:4-11)
  • He Places us into the Body of Christ (1Corinthians 12:12–13)
  • He Seals us (Ephesians 1:13, 4:30)

We believe in the Baptism of Holy Spirit and the proper exercise of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 3:11; Mark 1:8; Luke 3:16; John 1:33; Acts 1:4-8, 2:38; 1Corinthians 12:4-11).

Atonement, Forgiveness and Salvation

We believe humanity was created in the image of God (Genesis 1:26-27, 9:6). The sin of Adam (the first man) marred that image, creating an eternal divide between God and humanity. Every person is born in this spiritual state of separation and alienation from God (Genesis 3:1-7; Romans 3:23, 5:12). This state of spiritual estrangement from God is called “sin.” (Ephesians 2:12; Romans 3:23, 5:13-14].

This relationship cannot be restored by our own “good works.” (Romans 3:20,28; Galatians 2:16). It can only be restored when we receive a revelation of Jesus’ atoning blood, death, and physical resurrection, and repent of our sins ((Luke 24:47; Acts 2:28, 3:19). Then we can receive the gracious free gift of faith (John 3:15-18; Acts 4:12; Ephesians 1:7-8; 2:1-9; Romans 10:8-10; Titus 3:4-7; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4).

Repenting of our sins and receiving Jesus as Lord and Savior creates the miracle of “spiritual rebirth, or regeneration” into a new life of a relationship with God (John 1:12-13, 3:3-8; Titus 3:5; 1Peter 1:3,23).

This relationship with the Lord will prove its authenticity by the fruit of our obedience to God’s Word and to His Spirit (Deuteronomy 7:9; Psalm 51:1-2; Matthew 5:16; Romans 1:16-17; 3:21-26; Ephesians 2:8-10; Galatians 5:22; James 2:14-26).

The Return of Jesus

We believe in the literal, physical return of Messiah Yeshua to earth (Matthew 24:3-42; John 14:1-3; Acts 1:11; Revelation 1:7). He will rapture the Church and raise the dead (Matthew 24:31; 1Thessalonians 4:15-17; 1Corinthians 15:52). He will come with “Flaming Fire” to “inflict vengeance” on His enemies, (Matthew 16:27; 2Thessalonians 1:6-10) and destroy the anti-Christ “with the breath of His mouth.” (2Thessalonians 2:1-8).

He will establish the “throne of David” (2Samual 7:16) in Jerusalem (Zechariah 14:4; Revelation 19:11-21) and rule the nations (Psalm 2:9; Revelation 2:27).

Eternal Judgment

We believe in the resurrection and judgment of the righteous to eternal life and rewards and the wicked to eternal separation from God (Daniel 12:1-3; Matthew 25:31-46; John 5:28-29; 2Corinthians 5:10; Hebrews 9:27; 1Corinthians 15; Revelation 20-21). The Judgments of God will be righteous (Genesis 18,25; Deuteronomy 32:4; Psalm 9:8, 96:13; Acts 17:31)

Satan/The Devil

Satan, (“Adversary”), the Devil (“Accuser, Slanderer”), is a created finite malevolent supernatural being. Demonic spirits, similar in nature, are under his authority. He is a defeated foe, who, in the wisdom of God, for a season operates to hinder the purposes of God from being fulfilled. (Job 1:6-7; 1Thessalonians 2:18)

  • He is the “prince of this world” (Ephesians 2:2; John 12:31; 2Corinthians 4:4; 1John 5:19)
  • He is extremely subtle, and always questions the Word of God (Genesis 3:1-5)
  • He tries to steal the Word of God (Matthew 13:19; Mark 4:15; Luke 8:12)
  • He is a liar and a murderer (John 8:44)
  • He is strategic (2 Corinthians 2:11; Ephesians 6: 11)
  • He disguises himself, even as an “angel of light” (2 Corinthians 11:14)
  • He can cause spiritual blindness (2 Corinthians 4:4)
Like a “Roaring Lion” he seeks those to devour (1 Peter 5:8)
  • He is a defeated foe (John 12:31; Colossians 2:15; 1John 3:8; Hebrews 2:14
  • Believers have authority over him (Mark 16:18; Luke 10:19, 20:10)
  • Believers have spiritual armor (Ephesians 6:11-12)
  • When resisted, he flees (James 4:7)

He will ultimately be cast into the “Lake of Fire” (Matthew 25:41; Jude1:6; Revelation 20:10)

healing

We believe in divine healing, and pray in faith, according to the Scriptures (Matthew 8:17; Mark 16:18; James 5:14; 1Peter 2:24). we recognize that God is sovereign in healing, as He is in everything else (Isaiah 45:7–9; Matthew 10:29–31; Colossians 1:16–17; Ephesians 1:11; Romans 8:28). We recognize that God also uses natural sources of healing, including medications and doctors. (Isaiah 53:5; Matthew 8:17; Luke 10:9; Mark 1:40; 1Peter 2:24; James 5:14-15)

Water baptism

We believe that water baptism is by immersion, upon repentance and confession of faith. Infants can do neither. It symbolizes joining Jesus in His death, burial and resurrection. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; 1Corinthians 11:23-26; Romans 6:3-4; Colossians 2:12)

Communion

We believe the observance of Communion, which is derived from Jesus’ proclamation that the unleavened bread and wine used as part of a Passover Seder now represents His “body broken for us” and His “atoning blood creating the New Covenant,” should be freely partaken of by all believers as often as they wish. (Matthew 26:26-29; Mark 14:22-24; Luke 22:17-20; 1Corinthians 11:23-26)

The Church and Christian Unity

The Church – the Ecclesia – the Body of Christ, is comprised of all believers in Jesus. Global in scope, it always has local expressions in faith communities of all sizes. It is as diverse in structure and function as the human body which is representative of it.

The unity of the Church is not based on theological agreement (Ephesians 4:13). The unity of the church is based on strategically working together to accomplish four goals:

1. Save the Lost – Evangelize the nations, using all resources to do so.
2. Disciple the Saved – Teaching believers the fundamentals of walking with God.
3. Mature the Disciples – Equipping, training disciples into fruitful maturity.
4. Send the Mature – Sending mature fruitful disciples into the world to repeat this process.
(Matthew 28:19–20; Acts 1:6–8, 2:41–42; Romans 12:4-8; Ephesians 1:22-23, 2:19-22, 4:11-16; 1Corinthians 12:4-27)

Israel and the Jewish people

The Church has a Biblical relationship and responsibility to the Jewish people and the nation of Israel. We see this clearly in Romans chapter 11. In verse one the Apostle declares that God has NOT REJECTED His people. Since this is the truth, we can see that the doctrine of “replacement theology” is a satanic lie. Not only is it a lie, but it became one of many “doctrines of demons” used by the so called “Church,” as a justification to persecute and even kill Jewish people, perversely proclaiming that they were representing the Lord Jesus.

[To learn more about the blood-soaked history of “Christian anti-Semitism” read Dr. Morgan’s book, “So Deeply Scarred.”]

Not only has the authentic Body of Christ not replaced the Jewish people in the purposes of God, but gentile believers in the Jewish Messiah are like “wild olive branches” that are “grafted into Israel’s Olive Tree.” Believers can now draw from the “rich root” of that “Olive Tree.” (Romans 11:17-24).

The Body of Christ is called to be a witness of the reality of the Messiah to the Jewish people, in order to “provoke them to jealousy” (Romans 11:11,14). Satan hates this calling of the church to the Jewish people and has created many other lies to alienate believers from their Jewish roots and the Jewish people.

God is presently restoring the Body of Christ to her Jewish roots and to her Biblical relationship and responsibility to the Jewish people. Christians from around the world are recognizing that God’s Covenant purposes for the Jewish people will be fulfilled (Deuteronomy 7:6-8, 26:18-19; Jeremiah 31:3). They are blessing Israel and the Jewish people in practical ways as well as “Praying for the Peace of Jerusalem,” (Genesis 12:3; Isaiah 40:1; Psalm 122:6) and testifying to the reality of the Messiah in their lives.

As the Hebrew prophets have repeatedly declared, the Lord who scattered Israel will regather her (Jeremiah 31:10; Isaiah 54:7; Ezekiel 11:17). The Jewish people who rejected Jesus as their Messiah, will receive a revelation that He is indeed their Messiah and King (Zechariah 12:10; Matthew 23:39). When this ultimate end time revelation occurs, it will be “life from the dead” (Romans 11:15, 25-27). A clear reference, I believe, to the resurrection of the dead when Messiah Jesus returns (1Thessalonians 4:15-17; 1Corinthians 15:52).
