The Treasure in Earthen Vessels

Description

One of the great revelations of the New Testament is that Christ is now “in us”(Col. 1:27). Paul likens the “indwelling Christ” to a “treasure in an earthen vessel” (2 Cor.4:7). Our life of faith depends upon our ability to live from the inside out, rather than from the outside in. We must learn how to let the indwelling Christ be our life, and not be ruled by our own natural thoughts and feelings. We must adapt to living in the land of “I don’t know” and let the Holy Spirit lead us. We must learn how to listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit, as He speaks to us directly, or through the Words of Holy Scripture, or through the circumstances of life. Remember this: Obeying His voice and finding the “Treasure” takes risk! We must also learn how to see the “Treasure” in others and find what that “Treasure” has for us. Though sometimes it is hard to find, it is worth the effort, because the “Treasure” you find is always Jesus Himself ministering something of Himself to you!
